Wales Arts International has supported a number of projects between artists from Wales and India over the years – many of which resulting in challenging works and lasting partnerships. Several projects combined art with our mutual understanding and appreciation of multilingualism whilst others have used our differences, be it cultural or historical, to create fascinating and cohesive work.
This year is an important one as we mark our partnership with India by looking back at what Welsh artists have achieved so far. We are also continuing to build on this legacy by encouraging, facilitating and supporting new and exciting collaborations. We have done this to date through our India-Wales Research and Development visit funding, through scoping visits, and through the India-Wales fund, all joint projects between Wales Arts International and the British Council, supporting artistic collaboration and exchange between creative professionals and arts organisations in Wales and India.
