WOMEX 13- Call for Volunteers

WOMEX 13- Call for Volunteers

WOMEX is recognised and prestigious international world music showcase festival, with 60 concerts featuring over 300 artists open to the general public, a trade fair exhibiting in the region of 650 companies from over 90 countries and around 60 speakers at an international conference. The event offers mentoring sessions, its own annual awards, a film market programme, presentations, networking opportunities, receptions and DJ Club Nights.

Motorpoint Arena will host the day time trade fair, conference, film screenings, presentations & meetings, Wales Millennium Centre will host the night-time concert showcases, the opening gala and the closing awards ceremony and the DJ Club Nights will be at The Glee Club, Cardiff Bay. The local partnership, Cerdd Cymru Music Wales (CCMW), is delivering this years‘ event and is looking to recruit 150 volunteers to work 21st – 28th October 2013.

Volunteers are required to do all manner of jobs over the expo/festival week. You may be acting as a runner sorting out a band’s rider, helping out on the doors, working on wristband exchange or in the production office, helping crew at both venues, or assist delegate registration amongst many other tasks. Generally, WOMEX volunteers aim to make everyone’s Music Expo run as smoothly as possible.

Whilst obviously unpaid, all volunteers will be offered free food/drink whilst working, bus travel between the two venues, an access-all-areas wristband for the entire day-time event and night-time music showcases/DJ sessions, event-branded clothing and discounted nightime festival tickets for friends and family.

If this opportunity interests you, please complete the application form on the Cerdd Cymru Music Wales website and return to volunteers@cerddcymru.com by 4 October 2013.
