Help Musicians UK (HMUK)

Help Musicians UK (HMUK)

Help Musicians UK (HMUK), the leading independent music charity has recently announced two major initiatives highlighting its commitment to a fair, inclusive and equal music industry.

· A global partnership with Women in Music (WIM) , the global non-profit organisation founded to support and empower women in the music industry

· A new promoters fellowship to challenge gender balance in the UK Jazz scene

Women in Music Great Britain and Women in Music Northern Ireland

The ground-breaking partnership, announced last week at MIDEM launched WIM’s first European chapters entitled Women in Music Great Britain and Women in Music Northern Ireland. This will further establish Help Musicians UK’s commitment to promoting gender equality in the UK music industry after their recent high profile work with the UN Fund for Women’s HeForShe campaign and we would like you to play a part.

We'll also be in touch shortly about how we would like to work with you to make WIM as impactful as possibly across the UK. It's only together we can affect real and lasting change.

Jazz Promoters Fellowship

The Jazz Promoters Fellowship—a new pilot programme is in partnership with internationally recognised and award-winning jazz composer, educator and record producer, Issie Barratt.

This fully-funded HMUK Fellowship has been developed out of the need to create a gender balance within the jazz scene in the UK, provide a framework for best practice in training for promoters and has been supported by industry leaders across the sector.
