In this film, we hear from multi-disciplinary and internationally renowned artist and professor Marc Rees, as he participates in Possible Dialogues, presenting his work at the Encampment of Eternal Hope, located at The Briggait in Glasgow during COP26. Possible Dialogues is an initiative to connect social and environmental leaders, activists, artists and academics who have common interests relating to climate change and justice, but have not had the opportunity to interact. It was sparked at the end of 2019 by a conversation between Hector Fabio Yucuna Perea, Youth Coordinator of the Organisation of Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon and members of Más Arte Más Acción.
In Glasgow, Possible Dialogues was hosted by artists Walker & Bromwich at the WASPS studios in the old Victorian fish market - The Briggait.
In these reflections, Zoe Walker and Neil Bromwich sit with Marc to discuss the evolution and learning of Possible Dialogues, and look to the iterations that are yet to come. We also hear from Jonathan Colin about Más Arte Más Acción, his work in the community based on Colombia's Pacific Coast, generating critical thinking through art. This combined with powerful contribution from Hector Fabio Yucuna, co-founder of Más Arte Más Acción, who was part of COP26 along with his indigenous community.
