Location: This role can be based at any one of the Arts Council of Wales offices in Cardiff, Colwyn Bay or Carmarthen. We are currently working in a hybrid way.
Wales Arts International (WAI), the International Agency of the Arts Council of Wales, is recruiting to the dynamic role of International Digital Communications Officer. Responsible for producing a programme of engaging digital content, this dedicated international role will actively promote a positive understanding of the arts and culture of Wales to international and national audiences. Working closely with the Arts Council’s Communication team, the successful candidate will work closely with partners, artists and content makers to deliver the digital programme of the Year of Wales in France 2023 working closely with the communications team of Welsh Government, British Councils and on Arts Infopoint UK with Arts Councils across the UK Nations.
The role includes supporting the commissioning and producing content for multiple digital platforms including our websites, and social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. This will be in a variety of geographical areas and languages to ensure that we communicate with a wide diversity of audiences in priority countries as well as in the UK.
As a public body the Arts Council strives to manage its affairs to the highest standards of effectiveness and accountability; the International Digital Communications Officer will help us in achieving that goal.
The successful candidate/s may hold a relevant degree and / or previous professional experience gained via employment in a relevant digital content role, will have sound knowledge of digital content and media landscape in Wales, UK and Internationally, and will have experience of communicating internationally.
We work in both English and Welsh and fluency in Welsh (both written and spoken) is essential for this post. However, WAI is adopting a flexible approach to its recruitment to this role and will consider applications from Welsh learners who wish to undertake this role on a job share basis with someone who is fluent in Welsh.
