Are you an artist or musician ready to break out of the mold?

A selective cohort of international musicians and artists come together to share practice, explore collaboration across disciplines, and immerse themselves in the artistic regeneration of a rural Portuguese town. Over thirteen days, course leaders will foster a vibrant creative community through movement sessions, ensemble workshops, skill shares, local field trips, creative briefs, mentoring and more. The course will culminate in the curation of a public sharing of new works combining photography, moving image, music, and sound art.

Other Lands Other Sounds is a facilitated course designed for artists who are ready to step out of their comfort zone, get rid of the boxes, co-create, and co-llaborate. We play a lot, we work quickly, and we foster a supportive group dynamic - so that you leave inspired, awakened, & re-connected to why you make art in the first place.

This year, we are proud to be supporting the work of Estação Cooperativa in the town of Casa Branca, a former railway hub. Our work as an ensemble will ponder questions of sustainability, regeneration, community, and the re-enlivening of abandoned spaces.

There are approximately 10 spaces available for musicians and 5 for artists. Open to artists from diverse disciplines including music, visual arts, dance etc.
