Wales Arts International are at Showcase Scotland which features during Celtic Connections in Glasgow this week. This event is one of Scotland’s key opportunities to welcome global delegates to discover new folk and world music. Wales Arts International will take up this opportunity and build on developing close relationships with partners and musicians in Scotland.

Wales Arts International has supported a delegation from Wales to attend the showcase and expo event including representatives from Tŷ Cerdd, Festival of Voice, Wales Millennium Centre, Neuadd Ogwen and Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru, as well as chair of the Arts Council of Wales, Phil George, and Welsh Government’s Major Events representative, Gwilym Evans.

Also attending the festival from Wales are Pontio, British Council Wales, Focus Wales, Fire in the Mountain, Tredegar House Folk Festival and Trac.

There will be a whole range of delegates from Wales at the trade fair taking place 09:30 – 14:30 on Friday 31 January, many of which you’ll be able to meet at the Cerdd Cymru: Music Wales stand.

The Welsh presence doesn’t stop there, with The Trials of Cato, winners of the Best Album Award at the Radio 2 Folk Awards last year, will be supporting Fiona Hunter on Friday 31 January and Welsh singer Angharad Davies will perform as part of ‘Yng Ngheredigion’ on Saturday 1 February
