As Wales prepares for UEFA Women's Euro 2025 - our first major women's tournament - we stand at a transformative moment. Team Cymru represents more than football; we are a movement that harnesses the power of sport and culture to drive positive change across Wales and beyond.
Our values statement emerges from Wales' unique position as a nation that has embedded well-being and future generations thinking into law through the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. This legislative framework recognises that environmental, social, economic and cultural well-being are interconnected - and that culture has equal weight alongside other pillars of sustainability.
Drawing on centuries-old Welsh values of chwarae teg (fair play) and haelioni (generosity of spirit), Team Cymru's approach reflects our belief that sport and culture are powerful forces for justice, equality and empowerment. Our values are rooted in the Football Association of Wales' PAWB Cymru strategy and align with Wales' commitments as an Anti-racist Wales and a Nation of Sanctuary.
UEFA Women's Euro 2025 provides an unprecedented platform to demonstrate how Welsh values can inspire change. Through our galwad ac ateb (call and response) approach, we're not just playing in a tournament - we're creating a legacy that lifts communities, empowers the next generation of leaders, and showcases Wales as a nation that leads with its values.
This is our commitment to ensuring that everyone - pawb - has a place in Team Cymru's vision for a fairer, more inclusive future.
