Osian Meilir's latest work ‘Yn y Diwedd’ is part of National Dance Company Wales and Literature Wales’ digital cross-artform collaboration ‘Plethu/Weave’. The film in collaboration with writer Iestyn Tyne responds to the feelings of anxiety and grief we may experience in relation to the climate emergency.
"I was fortunate enough to work closely with the young Welsh dancer Osian Meilir on his Articulture out-door arts commission ‘Qwerin’ for which I was his mentor and midwife. ‘Qwerin’ is a contemporary dance performance that extends the boundaries of traditional Welsh folk dance. Taking inspiration from Queer club culture and the intricate weaving, flowing patterns of folk dance, ‘Qwerin’ is a Welsh folk dance with a twist, a joyous mash-up of Vivian Westwood, voguing wrapped in a victorious hue." - Marc Rees
