This discreet but beautiful and pertinent action speaks for itself and what we all need to do more of in these challenging times.
I was invited to work on the community project ‘Blaguro’ at Yr Egin in Carmarthenshire. ‘Llonydd’ is the result of working with the group Gwneud Bywyd Yn Haws. The group is mostly made up of women offering support, advice and friendship. I invited the members to sit in silence for a set period of time and then reflect on the experience. The responses were deeply personal and emotional and they highlighted how powerful connecting to ourselves through silence can be. We discovered that In a world of chaos it's difficult to be silent. There are so many distractions and excuses that we forget to be still. In stillness and silence, we leave space for meaningful internal conversations. With no interruptions from the outside world, we can observe and acknowledge our true selves.
