Welsh Government’s Agile Cymru funding programme is currently open for applications for activity that can be delivered before the end of March 2025.  The scheme is to provide support for cross-border and international activities to encourage economic co-operation.

The scheme provides financial support for ‘seeding’ or facilitating activity that builds cross-border and international partnerships. It recognises the importance of cultural collaboration and the social benefits of working across borders.

Agile Cymru can support cultural, heritage and sporting projects if the activity proposed has the potential to lead to greater, sustained cooperation of significance to Wales. Applications are welcomed from organisations based in Wales but please note that Agile Cymru is unlikely to support individual artists or performances.

Further information is available in the Agile Cymru guidance

The focus of the current calls are:

Irish Sea space call for proposals

This funding is an initiative to encourage cooperation across and around the Irish sea space, as part of the Welsh Government’s Irish Sea Framework.  One of the three broad priority areas for co-operation is Communities and Culture.

EU regions call for proposals

This initiative encourages applications from organisations operating in Wales that have the potential to increase and sustain co-operation with important EU regions, including the Basque Country (Euskadi), Baden Württemberg, Brittany, Flanders and Silesia.

Further information is available here.

Wales-Brittany call for proposals

Initiative to encourage joint projects between Wales and Brittany.

The Regional Council of Brittany and the Welsh Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding, renewed in 2023, which identified a number of areas for co-operation. Cultural cooperation is one of the priorities for 2024 and 2025.
