Learning exchange opportunity with Germany: for social arts practice organisations working directly with local communities

Cultural Bridge supports arts and cultural organisations across the UK and Germany to develop partnerships that explore social arts practice. 

The fund if for arts organsiations with a strong track record of working with their local communities to drive social change through participatory practice.  

By enabling new and existing connections, Cultural Bridge supports a growing network of organisations committed to sharing expertise and skills, exchanging ideas and collaborating on artistic practices and projects that explore themes and issues faced by communities in Germany and the UK.

Through co-investment from Arts Council England, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, British Council, Creative Scotland, Fonds Soziokultur, Goethe-Institut London and Wales Arts International / Arts Council of Wales, Cultural Bridge has so far supported 49 partnerships through 62 awards, across four rounds of funding since its pilot year in 2021. Organisations from Wales previously supported include Valleys Kids, National Dance Company of Wales, Head4Arts, Dyffryn Dyfodol, Hijinx Theatre, Common Wealth Theatre and Das Clarks

Applications for the 2026 - 2027 programme are open from 1st October - 12th November 2025. Please ensure you have read the updated guidance and checked your organisation’s eligibility to apply before considering an application.
