PRS Foundation, the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music and talent development, announced on 3 March that 35 UK artists are receiving support through the International Showcase Fund to perform at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas USA from 12th March 2022.

The artists from Wales announced to receive support are Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Cara Hammond and Mace the Great.

On the announcement, ISF recipient Cara Hammond said "I’m so grateful to be a recipient of PRS Foundation's International Showcase Fund for my showcases at SXSW, USA! SXSW will be my international debut, with showcases at Swan Dive on 17/03 with Focus Wales, and at Stephen F’s Bar on 18/03. I’ve just finished recording new music which I’m excited to showcase at the festival as it will bring amazing new opportunities for me and my music. Thank you PRS!"

Focus Wales also announced an exciting line-up of Welsh artists showcasing at the festival in 2022, taking place at Swan Dive, Austin, on Thursday 17th March. Those artists are:

The International Showcase Fund is run by PRS Foundation in partnership with Department for International Trade, Arts Council England, British Underground, Musicians' Union, Creative Scotland, PPL, Wales Arts International / Arts Council of Wales, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland. It offers vital and timely support for artists to take their first steps into international territories by enabling them to perform at key showcasing festivals and conferences such as Canadian Music Week, SXSW, Reeperbahn Festival, Zandari Festival, Womex, Eurosonic, Jazzahead and Mutek which attract thousands of people working in the music industry from every corner of the globe.
