The location for Wales in Venice 2019 is Santa Maria Ausiliatrice, Fondamenta San Gioachin, Castello. The Santa Maria Ausiliatrice is a former convent now used as a community centre. The spaces used by Wales comprise the former chapel as well as a complement of contemporary rooms.

Where is it?

Situated in-between the main Biennale Giardini and Arsenale sites, the Santa Maria Ausiliatrice is on Fondamenta San Gioachin. You'll find it just off the wide Via Garibaldi.

Physical accessibility

The exhibition spaces are on the ground floor of the building and are physically accessible with ramps provided. Please note there are no public facilities on site. The venue is near a small bridge with steps that are not currently ramped. For more details about access across the city, please refer to the city council’s Accessible Venice Map.
